Windows 10: Inaccurate (erratic) playback speed with "Groove Music"

Is it a known issue that Groove Music doesn't play music back at the correct speed?

Try this experiment (I have): Play back a song while recording it with any video camera (I have used a Sony camcorder, a $1200 Canon G50, a Canon S110 point-and-shoot). Now, pull the video and the original audio into a video editor, and you'll find that the audio often doesn't line up. GM plays it back either too slow or too fast - most of the time. It seems to depend on the phase of the moon (or, more likely, what else is happening on the playback computer).

This is a real problem for me. I record dances and re-dub the audio. Worked fine with WMP, but not with GM.

Is this a known problem? Is there another app that will reproduce the music FAITHFULLY? Can I somehow get WMP back on Windows 10?

No Gapless Playback in Groove Music

Hi,

The troubleshooting steps did not help. I'm on version 10.19031.1141.0.

Is there a list of file formats that are supported for gapless playback? Is gapless playback only for streaming, or is it for local music also?

• Which version of the Music app are you using on the PC?
  

Follow these steps to know the app version:

Open the Groove music app, click on the ‘Settings or Gear’ icon located at the left corner and on the right side click on ‘About’ to know the version of the app.

If you are facing issues with the Groove Music, suggest you to refer to the steps from this article to check if that helps.

Note: You can reset Internet Explorer settings to what they were when Internet Explorer was first installed on your PC. This is useful for troubleshooting problems that may be caused by settings that were changed after installation. Be aware that this
process isn't reversible, and all previous Internet Explorer settings are lost after reset.

Note Deleting and re-creating the libraries does not affect the data in the libraries.

Feedback app in Windows 10. It lets users to submit any new suggestions and upvote ideas created by other people who thinks this should be implemented.
