Windows 10: Incorrect folder size reported in windows 10 pro 1809 October update

I was getting incorrect files and folders sizes in windows 10 october update 1803, but now i switched to windows 10 update 1809 and again getting the same problem.


Windows 10 is not able to read the sizes of subfolders. I have a file which is of more than 100 GB, but windows reported its size just 8 GB.


Please help me to get rid off, and vde a fix for this issue.

Incorrect folder size in file explorer

I’ve had this problem after October Windows update. Currently, file explorer stopped recognizing folder size. When I open properties, I can see incorrect figures. For instance, I know that my folder weighs 78 Gb but I it shows only 30Gb. The same
problem is in the disk space. I use Microsoft surface book 2., Windows 10 v. 1809.

Windows 10 Pro: folder size reported incorrect

Hi everyone,

I experience a strange phenomena: the reported size of a backup folder is so wrong. The laptop was upgraded from win 7 to win 10 and, as far as I remember, the size was correct at that time. Now the laptop is working so badly and I try to fresh reinstall
it BUT I can't make a full backup because of that folder ... I don't have other copy and it contains valuable personal files.





Inside that is a structure of folders and going on that structure, the problem is not because one file and/or folder but it is spreading across structure:





I shared that folder in one virtual machine under VirtualBox on UBUNTU and met same problem: the size is reported wrong. Just to mention, I can not move or copy on another partition and/or harddrive because reported size exceeds the capacity and it is not
allow.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated!
