Windows 10: Incorrect storage subtotal

On my laptop I have only a few games, but apparently I have used over 100 gigabytes of storage I haven't downloaded large file games I went into the storage category 'Apps and features' as it had the most used up, the system says they're only 110 apps, although not even 2 thirds of the apps have more than 100 megabytes of storage being used. Why is this happening?

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

  Did you make any changes in BIOS?

  Are you getting any error message?
  

I suggest you to update Storage controller drivers and check if it helps.

Steps 1:

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Device manager.
  
• 
  Expand Storage controller.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and Update the drivers.
  

Steps 2: Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue
is with device. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Why does storage shows incorrect file size?

My name is Mohammed Shuaib, an Independent Advisor and I'm here to assist you with the issue of storage shows incorrect space. Please follow the below to fix the issue.

Fix #1

Step 1

Right-click on Windows icon and then select Run

Step 2

Type %temp% and press enter

Step 3:

Select all files and folders and press Shift +Del to permanently delete the temporary files.

Step 4:

Next go to C:\Windows\Temp and select all files and folders

Step 5:

Press Shift +Del to permanently delete the temporary files.

Let me know the status after performing the above.
