Windows 10: Incorrect User Names

    Incorrect User Names


    When I transferred my system to a new computer, the user names are incorrect for my microsoft acct and I am unable some of my documents. How can I fix this?There is also an unknown account manager.

    'incorrect user name and password'


    The netplwiz option is the same as I posted in post #2 below. If you check the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box, do you still get this "incorrect user name and password" message?

    How to change User name on Windows 10

    Hi Davit,

    I will certainly help you in changing the User name on Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the User name:

    • Press Windows logo + R keys to open the run command, type
      netplwiz       and click on Ok.
    • On the Users tab, click on Properties to change the user name and then click on
      Apply.

    Computer name change issues (user/passw incorrect)

    Hi,



    We suggest that you log in to your admin account then delete the other user profile. To delete a user account on Windows 10, kindly follow these steps:



    • Click Start > Settings > Account > Family & other users
    • Click the account that you want to delete
    • Click Remove. You’ll be prompted to confirm.
    • Click Delete account and data.


    Once the other account is deleted, you can try again running the netplwiz.
    Just ensure that you uncheck the one labeled as “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer.”
