Windows 10: Initial release of Windows 10, version 1809 failure to complete install

I have an AMD based machine which downloaded and attempted to install the October update. Upon inspection it still shows a restart required to complete and cannot be removed. What is the solution OTHER THAN restoring to a previous restore point or a system refresh to get the "restart required" notice in WUPDATES to disappear so that I may get the new release? Is DISM the best solution? I also received a prompt BSOD with error code 0x00000021a which was a death throw to the system, winlogin not functional. I eventually worked around that BSOD issue and the system is functional once again.

Windows 10 version 1809

We don't know when 1809 will be re-released. Microsoft has identified the cause of failure and created a patch, but at this point it's been released only to the Insider community for testing.

Insiders are testing a modified release of Windows 10 1809 feature update and the release will happen in due time. The Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 Pro N edition (1809 build) will be available for download once the feature update is pushed.



The new official release of the Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 Pro 1809 N edition will be listed under
Media Feature Pack list for Windows N editions once released.

Official Release Date of Windows 10 Version 1809

Hello everyone!

I am using Windows 10 version 1803.

I know that Windows 10 version 1809 is now released to many people. However, I checked Windows Update (and even Windows Update Assistant) to update my version but they all say that "You are up-to-date".

Do you know when I can install Windows 10 version 1809? Thank you very much!
