Windows 10: Install official ISO 10162- one minor glitch on install

Hi there

On install on an HP envy laptop I got the "Just a Moment" Logo at the final stage just going on forever. After about 15 mins I thought well I'll try again. I couldn't even POWER OFF the laptop. I had to open it up and remove the battery to get the turn off to work !!! something had screwed the BIOS.

Anyway I removed all possible periphals including an SDHC card and wireless mouse / keyboard.

Installed just fine.

I have a feeling that my micro SDHC card in the SD adapter might have been an issue. Works fine after the install. Just inserted it and Windows recognized it.

Same applies to W10pro official release >>> can download ISO - burn DVD - and upgrade... either W10pro preview or W8.1?

 

Kb3069068 has an error and appears not to install, with result that Update 10162 does not install.

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue.

You may want to try the new ISO which is updated with the latest build 10162 to make a clean installation and check if this helps.
If you don't have many programs installed, a clean install might be a good choice.

I am on 10158, clean installed, a desktop, and the same happened to me. Just a moment... inifinity. I just pushed reset and after rebooting the installation proceeded... figure that*Eek

 

I had a similar experience with my laptop, removed all the devices I could, connected by Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi and 10162 installed and then I added the devices with a problem.

One thing I did notice just after 10162 finished downloading was that Windows Defender complained about malware and it took action. For a few seconds I was worried that it quarantined 10162. :-|

 

I had the same issue and rebooting fixed it. No issues thought with a clean install of 10162.
