  1. Install Win 10 on a new system w/o DVD

I have a bit of a screw up that I'm trying to resolve. I'm remotely trying to help my grandson build a PC (remote due to COVID).

He has ordered all the components including a Win 10 64 Home DVD.

Now that we are getting into the detail, I see that the PC case he has ordered (NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case) will not accommodate a DVD drive. Therefore, we need to use a Win flash drive for the installation.

Before he breaks the seal on the Win 10 DVD package, can someone tell me if we can simply copy the Win 10 installation disk to a USB drive and use it for installation?

    Thank you in advance.

    :)

    New SSD for Win 10

Thanks for good suggestions. Yes-cloning old ssd to new ssd and then installing 10 is what I planned. Keeping Win 7 on separate drive hadn't occurred to me, and is something for me to consider.

BTW-I assume that I could not install win 10 directly onto the new ssd w/o cloning win 7 onto it first? If not, then I may do a clean install of WIN 7 onto the new drive, leaving everything on the old SSD till 10 is installed.
