Windows 10: Install Windows 10 Pro on new SSD hard drive

My church has received a Dell Latitude E5540 as a donation. The hard drive has been wiped and boots up only to bios. I want to replace the hard drive with an SSD and install Windows 10 Pro. How to do I buy Windows 10 Pro and install it?

Install Windows 10 Pro on a new HDD/SSD

Hello everybody,

I am just wondering if it's possible to install Windows 10 Pro on to a new HDD/SSD and keep the current hard drive which it has Windows 7 already installed with programmes - we don't actually care about our files as they are stored separately on to a server.
The current hard drive will then be useful if the new hard drive broke or infected by a malware/virus.

Since we have two Dell Optiplex 390 machines... will it affect/confuse the BIOS or the motherboard when swapping the hard drives as it will look for the hard drive parameter when booting up the system?

Good suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hard drives listed as SSD drives

Upgraded to Win 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro.

Have 2 Hard drives in Raid 1 set up.

Win 10 lists these drives as SSD drives in System Properties.

How do I change the listing of these drives to HD so I can optimize them?

 

Problems installing new hard drive

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Download and create an installation media (ISO) for Windows 10 form the link below:
  
  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
  
• Disconnect the 1TB and 3TB Hard Drives and install Windows 10 on the SSD using the installation media by following the steps provided by Andre Da Costa in the link below:
  How to: Upgrade from Previous Versions of Windows Using Windows 10 ISO file
• Connect the External drives (1 & 3 TB) and check for status.
