  1. Installation of an unsigned driver by modifying administrative credentials.

Hi, I am trying to find another route around the problem of installing drivers with no signed security certificate from an unverified source. In other words China. Before today I simply restart+shift, t.shoot, advanced options, restart with driver security signature requirements turned off (f7). Then in the device manager expanded "ports", selected "unrecognized device com 3", selected "update driver", look for driver manually, then I'm sure that you can see where it goes from here. It worked well until now.

Now "ports" is missing from the device manager list, even though I'm displaying hidden devices and viewing them based on connection type, making it impossible to update the driver from there. (Impossible for me at my level of literacy).

I can locate my driver in file explorer but when I attempt to run it, I see a message stating that an administrator has blocked me from running the program for my own protection. Changing the administrators allowances for handling the software seems like the best way to get around this, however it is a bit more of a bite than I am willing to take. I've tried what worked in the past on 2 computers and with 2 different flight controllers with the same results

Can I be coached through this or am I in over my head? Is there another way to get the driver installed?

Thanks for reading my description and questions. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and hopefully your solutions.

    :)

    You might try this:

Installing Unsigned Drivers by Disabling Integrity Checks
    To disable integrity checks:
STEP 1: Open the Command Prompt as admin from the Power User menu, then execute the command: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks off
STEP 2: After executing the command, restart your PC, and then proceed in installing the unsigned driver for your system.
STEP 3: To re-enable integrity check, execute the below command as an admin in the command prompt: bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on
STEP 4: When you get the message saying the operation was successful, restart your system and you’re good to go.

  3. Install Unsigned Driver

    Hi Geronimo,

So you’ve done almost all the things I would of suggested, and still no dice huh?

I did find this article -
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardwa...
    - and it speaks to “Attach a Kernel Debugger to Disable Signature Verification”

Not sure this will help, but I’m hoping. Let me know!

How to install an unsigned driver

Cannot remember exact menu as not at pc, but its via the troubleshooting menu in recovery and updates. Somewhere an advanced option to restart pc, then it gives a list of options and one is to restart with unsigned drivers.
