Windows 10: installation of office 2013

    Clean installation of Windows 10 Pro, Office 2013 and drivers due to SSD upgrade on a 2013 laptop (upgrade history: Windows 7, 8, 8.1 to 10 Pro)

    Not sure what you mean by Windows 2010 Pro. That doesn't exist as far as I know.

    1. If the device had Windows 10 Pro previously installed and activated then you can install Windows 10 Pro as a clean install (no need to install Windows 7 first) and it will automatically activate. Assuming the new SSD is the only change. I've just done
    the same with Home.

    2. You should be able to install Office 2013 and use your key to activate.

    3. Install Windows 10 and use the generic drivers. Unless the manufacturer has drivers specifically for Windows 10 I wouldn't try to use Windows 7 drivers unless there is something not working. There is no harm in installing Windows 10 on the new SSD and
    testing it out. If something isn't working you can always put the old drive back.

    My questions:

    1. For a Windows 10 Pro clean installation on a new SSD drive on the old laptop (with Windows 2010 Pro installed), would I need to follow original OS upgrade processes (from the original Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10) or can I simply clean install Windows
    10 Pro on the new hard drive and it will activate automatically?

    2. For Office 2013, do I have to uninstall Office 2013 on the original laptop hard drive to be able to install and activate the same Office 2013 on the new SSD drive? Windows 2010 Pro and Office 2013 would remain on the old hard drive as a backup but
    never be used unless the new SSD drive fails.

    3. Finally, are the hardware drivers that originally came with the laptop purchased new in 2013 (therefore drivers created for Windows 7 Pro) like to work reliably in Window 10 Pro or is it better to stick to use the generic drivers that are self-installed
    by Windows 10 Pro for a stable machine less likely to crash?
