Windows 10: Installed Windows 10 now can not get administrative privileges

I new help updated to windows 10 from windows 7 get message you are not administrator enter password but nowhere to enter password I am blocked from making any changes can't even reinstall windows I did do the reboot with the shift key and restart key tried choose different options like troubleshooting get to screen that says HomeGroup User$ and asks for password tried to think what it could be not luck.

Step 1: I suggest you to check if you having Administrator account or not.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Then type "User Accounts" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Then check whether you have Administrator account or not.



Step 2: I recommend you make changes in User access control settings and check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type “Change User Account Control Settings” without the quotes in search bar and click on it.

3. Then try to set moderate security settings for permission to install apps and application on the computer.

Can not get Administrator Privileges

After the latest update to Windows 10, I discovered that I could no longer update any software or apps. In an attempt to solve the problem I tried just about every solution put forward. Even activating the Hidden Administrator Account wouldn't work because
I did not have "Administrator Privileges" which is curious. I also tried to run scannow but once again it wouldn't work because I did not have "Administrator Privileges". I also can not update any drivers because of "Administrator Privileges". I have also
looked into the dreaded task of a reset but I can't get access because no "Administrator Privileges" Any help provided would be hugely appreciated please.

 

In a command prompt type "net localgroup administrators" without the quotes. That will tell you the users that are administrators. Do you have users in the administrators group?

 

Yes I do
Members: Administrator, Guest, HomeGroupUser $

 

Wow. Guest should definitely NOT be in there.

Did you set up a homegroup on your network? I believe the password for the HomeGroupUser $ account would be the homegroup password that was used to create the homegroup. If it is - make sure and create a new user account that is an administrator before you do anything else. Then you can use the new user account as administrator to change your own user account to administrator.
