Installing Win 10 x64 using a flash memory

    Hello all,

I'm going to re-install Windows 10 x 64. My SDD is of 256 GB size containing two drives. The C drive is to be for installation and the D drives contains my valuable data.

I want to use the Rufus app to install the .iso file of the windows into a 32 GB flash memory. What details should I use for that flash memory in terms of scheme, file system etc to be able to use it for installing Windows please?

    Here's also my system specs:

    I used:
Partition Scheme: MBR, Target System: BIOS(or UEFI-CSM), File System: NTFS, Cluster size: Default => Failed to install, saying a message about GPT.

    Should I modify BIOS settings?

    :)

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

    ¿You already tried this one?...

    Run CMD

    1. diskpart
    2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

    2. select disk #
    3. clean
    4. create partition primary
    5. select partition 1
    6. active
    7. format fs=fat32
    8. assign
    9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

    good luck!

  3. Choice of memory and motherboard... a bit stuck...

No one who got some suggestions on this one, huh?

I've found out that the Asus M3A78-T needs to be flashed, so then that motherboard is excluded from my list. Which motherboard and memory should I then go for? Any suggestions?
