Windows 10: Installing windows 10

Hello I just recently bought a new hard drive and learned that my previous version of Windows 10 on the old hard drive was part of the free upgrade no longer available and not transferable to my new hard drive...… So..... I bought windows 10 from the Microsoft store and attempted to download windows 10 and install it using the installer page I was taken to after my purchase. However the installer will not get past checking for updates (says 46% completed at best) and this installer I left running for 24 hours trying to let it have time to do everything. I cant figure out why checking for updates will not finish despite having 24 hours to do so. Also I tried going into the activate a product key option under the system options that shows me currently running windows 8.1 but it tells me the product key is invalid?.Any help as to what I can to do get windows 10 installed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you We homeschool my son and not having the computer working right is a huge issue with keeping his schooling on track. Thank you.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
