    Installing Windows to a new hard drive.


    To cut a long story short, the hard drive in my old PC died. Fortunately, I was in the process of building a new one, so I have the parts at my house, except a case, as I'm getting one from a friend.

    However, that hard drive is the one that had Windows installed on it, and I'd not got around to making the installation media for my new PC.

    The person I'm getting a case from happens to have an installation USB stick, but now I'm worried that as I've lost access to that hard drive, I have no way of finding the license, as it was a digital upgrade when they were giving out free upgrades to Windows 10.

    Am I going to have to buy a new Windows key? Is there a way of finding my Windows key on the Windows website? I have a Microsoft account, but I can't see my license key anywhere. Or will I just have to sign in after the installation and my key transfers over?
