Windows 10: Intel Bluetooth Driver cannot support downgrading from version 22.00.0.2 to version...

I have a Acer Apire F5-573T that had the Bluetooth disappear from the Device Manager. The correct Intel Bluetooth Driver is version 18.1.1546.2762.


In an attempt to fix it I installed an Intel Bluetooth Driver 22.00.0.2 because I couldn't find the correct driver. This made all the bluetooth devices I connected to cut in and out when playing audio. I tested multiple devices, and the audio works just fine when not connected to bluetooth.


I have since found a download for Intel Bluetooth Driver version 18.1.1546.2762 but I am getting an error code when trying to install it that reads "This product cannot support downgrading from version 22.00..2 to version 18.1.1546.2762. Please uninstall the product and try again"


I have tried uninstalling the bluetooth from the Device Manager, but it still doesn't work. Please advise.

Hi

1. Uninstalled the generic Bluetooth driver, restarted and let Windows reinstall (method 1).

2. Used HPSA 8 to install the latest Bluetooth driver from HP for my Notebook model.

3. Ran Intel Driver Update Utility. It offered to downgrade the Bluetooth as before (a restart was required).

After restart, HPSA was able to connect to HP servers but unable to identify my computer model and therefore unable check for updated drivers.

I uninstalled the Intel Proset Software

I performed step 1.

HPSA started and functioned correctly

I performed step 2.

The Bluetooth driver version, as reported in Device Manager, is 17.1.1531.1764. It seems to be the original MS generic driver.

Since, both MS and HPSA are satisfied that this is the latest driver, so I am happy to leave things as they are.

I noticed that the Surface Pro was using Bluetooth 4, I was trying to do same on HP Notebook.

Intel Driver Update Utility is offering to DOWNGRADE:

Intel PROSET/Wireless Software for Bluetooth technology for MS Windows 10 64-bit (WP)

from the current version 18.12.0.3 to version 17.1.1531.1764.

I am learning to ignore it. If you accept the install it fails anyway.

Did I do wrong ?
