Windows 10: Intel CS110 Camera Driver Needed in Win10?

Hello ALL:
I have an old Intel CS110 Camera that we never used. The Part Number is an Intel A20953-001 but I wonder if after all these years if my Windows 10 64 bit Pro software has these drivers built in? I hate to just plug it in to try without asking. I see driver downloads on the web, but most have very bad adware attached and never have a direct download.

Hi Pagan,

I found the caused of the problem. Its due to Microsoft updates as shown below. Somehow the update on the Intel driver for the camera is supposed to make it better but it creates failure on face sign-in. Microsoft needs to look into this. I hope they read this.

Bluescreen when using Netflix-App and having Power plugged in

From the minidump files it appears the Intel AVStream camera driver (iacamera64.sys) is causing the Intel graphics driver (igdkmd64.sys) to crash:

BUCKET_ID: 0x9F_3_iacamera64_IMAGE_igdkmd64.sys

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel camera software/driver using the latest version.

If the error persists you could try uninstalling the Intel camera software/driver and see if the camera works using Windows built-in drivers.

 

The only way you're gonna find out if MS has the specific driver in WHQL, or an appropriate generic driver, is to plug it in. Worse thing that can happen is it won't work. And you are correct....stay away from weird looking driver sites, they bite! Get it from MS or Intel.


P.S. - Except for generic drivers, MS cannot possibly have every driver for everything built in. If there's a better driver specific to the hardware, and has passed WHQL, MS will offer it.
