Windows 10: Intel HD 4000 can’t output to 4K

Discus and support Intel HD 4000 can’t output to 4K in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; I have an i7-3770 that I need to output to 4K.     Intel HD 4000 can’t output to 4K


    I have an i7-3770 that I need to output to 4K. It seems that this iGPU can’t support 4K, but it does so perfectly in Linux at 30hz, so I can’t figure out why I can’t make it do the same in Win10. Does anyone know a viable workaround to make it happen?

    Drive 4K resolution with Intel HD 4000 (Windows 10 issue)

    I have the exact same problem :-(

    However, I was running Windows 7 before and not Linux. I have of course updated with the latest Intel HD 4000 drivers from Intel but it remains the same.

    If I ask Windows 10 to list all of the modes that the Intel HD 4000 supports then the highest resolution is 1920x1080. The intel config SW shows that my monitor (not the driver) can go to 4K.

    Thus, this requires a driver update from Intel's side before it will work as far as I see it :-(

    I'm running a dual monitor the laptop + external 23inches without a problem. I was hoping that I could replace the 23 in. monitor with a 40-43in TV that is 4K and get an external resolution of 4K on the 4kTV. I have HDMI and USB3 ports on the laptop.



    2) Can HDMI or usb3 support 4k directly or via an adapter?

    My computer is ready for windows 10 update, its reserved. But it gave me a message saying my intel hd graphics 4000 driver is not compatible. There is no windows 10 drivers on Intels site. Will microsoft give an updated driver for intel hd graphics 4000
