Windows 10: Intel management engine interface - Error code 10 - can i disable the device safely?

Hello!


I have windows 10 pro 1903 on a desktop pc. Since at least 1803 I have a problem with "Intel management engine interface" listed as a system device. The error reads:


This device cannot start. (Code 10)

STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE


Automatic Driver update does not work and I could not manually find a driver update compatible with my chipset.


I was thinking of simply disabling Intel management engine interface. I found on the web that it serves for remote control purposes, so I don't need it, but would it be safe to just disable it?


Incidentally, I did not have the issue when I first installed windows 10 (2016), it appeared after some update, either 1709 or 1803 I think.

I followed the steps you mentioned, but the Intel Management Engine Interface in Device Manager, continue to have an exclamation sign.

And in Device Status continue to appear:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)

STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE"

The laptop is a MSI GT80 2QE Titan SLI. In their webpage (Support For GT80 2QE Titan SLI | Laptops - The best gaming laptop provider | MSI Global 64), they put version 11.0.0.1146 as the driver for
Intel Management Engine for Windows 10 64bit, I downloaded, but was not able to install it.

Right now it has version 11.0.5.1189.

What else could I try?

I followed those steps, now it says "The best drivers for your device are already installed"

I also runned the troubleshooter from the link (https://support.microsoft.)

But it "fix" the problem, then restart the computer. But the problem still persist.

I runned it various times.

The Intel Management Engine Interface in Device Manager, continue to have an exclamation sign.

And in Device Status continue to say:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)

STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE"

What else could I try?

Device Manager: Error Code 10 for Intel(R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface

Recently, I did a reset of Windows 10 Home. I had some issues with activation and the device drivers. Now the Intel(R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface is throwing Code 10 that says STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE.

Below is the screenshot. Can someone explain to me how I can fix this?





This is my Acer Aspire XC-603G Desktop PC. It originally came with Windows 8.1, but was upgradable to Windows 10 Home.

I will provide the specs as soon as I find them out.
