Windows 10: Intel RST alert after W10 update

I just intstalled KB5009543 this AM. No installation issues. When I restarted the computer and I started getting a notification reading as follows:Intel RST"Your system is reporting one or more warnings and data maybe at risk. Open the application for details"I did the following trouble shooting:1. Checked RST driver and ran Intel repair driver repair tool for my system driver15.7.5.10252.Ran Dell Support Assist hdw scan and reported no issues3. Check task manager and it's showing a yellow triangle on this item4. Ran check disc-no errors5. I have noticed some applications are loading slower th

Intel RST service is not running

The Intel RST service is for the Intel Rapid Storage Driver. The Intel Rapid Storage Driver provides speed for data transfer and improves the performance for SATA drives or PCIe drives.

• What is the make and model of the computer and motherboard?
  

You can follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Changing the startup type for Service

You can try changing the startup type for the Intel RST service and check if that makes a difference. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type serivces.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, scroll down, look for Intel RST service, right click on it and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Now, under startup type select Automatic from the drop down menu.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

Method 2: Updating the drivers manually

You can try downloading the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Driver from the

Intel Website and check if that helps. However, I would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer website as well.

Not updating because of Intel RST

Microsoft and Intel are aware of an issue that has surfaced with Intel RST and the 1903 update. Intel released version 17.5.1.1021 to resolve this issue on 7/10/2019

However, that update was not successful and Intel RST is still blocking the 1903 update on most systems . .

Microsoft and Intel continue to work on a fix for this bug, until they do come up with a working fix, it is best not to update to version 1903, because it will continue to fail . . .

 

Windows 10 and Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Version 12.9.0.1001

There are updated dedicated Intel drivers available for Rapid Storage Technology (formerly Matrix Storage Manager).

Your Intel RST software version is 12.9.0.1001 and is not listed as compatible for W10 - the current version is 14.8.0.1042 and is certified as W10 compatible.

You can check for Intel drivers automatically at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ it can scan your machine and suggest drivers for download, although Intel RST requires a
manual installation the first time on a fresh OS.

This universal file (32 & 64 bit) will also install the management console.
