Windows 10: Intel Smart Sound Technology OED not working, cannot hear Audio

After a download of a driver updating program that evidently went very wrong, some of my drivers appear to have broken and/or disappeared, leaving me unable to hear any audio from my laptop whether through headphones or speakers. I feel like I've tested every other possible solution I've seen, so I need to ask if I'm somehow doing something wrong here. My primary problem was with Intel High Definition DSP before, but is has since transformed into a non-functional Intel Smart Sound Technology OED as shown below.I've already tried uninstalling and removing it, but that just causes it to reappe

No audio output after system update or driver update or BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) update.



Resolution

Open Device manager

In System devices > Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller

Right click and select Update driver

Select Browse my computer for driver software

Select let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

Select High Definition Audio controller and install.

ANY WAY TO INSTALL IT? I CAN'T CHOOSE AUDIO OUTPUT BECAUSE OF IT.

I am having the exact same problem listed above, and successfully uninstalled the driver, and after restarting it reappeared again with the yellow triangle. I installed the Assistant but it did not help in reinstalling or updating the "Intel(R) Smart
Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED" driver. What next?
