  1. Interact with Desktop using Project Spartan...

I am a developer who currently has a web application that calls a COM object on the PC that IE is running on. With Project Spartan I'm aware that they are getting rid of Active X which is the method we used to be able to do this.

What I'm looking for is what is the equivalent going to be with Project Spartan (EDGE)? Is there something already in place for developers who need to communicate with the client PC through the web browser?

    Thanks!

    :)

  2. Will Windows 10 have Internet Explorer?

IE is still included in windows 10 BUT it is being retired and replaced with project spartan. Spartan is set to be the default browser in win 10 and it can import all of IE's favs bookmarks, etc.

I suspect there will be some gowning pains in getting used to Spartan.

    • In recent builds, we've added a new app which gives you an easy way to contact Support when needed. Just type "Contact Support" into the search box. A few quick clicks in the Contact Support app and you'll be connected by chat or phone to Microsoft Answer Desk – a one-on-one connection with a Windows 10 expert. From this app, you can connect with the community, chat online with an Answer Tech, get a call back so you don't have to wait on hold, or schedule a call at a convenient time. We think it's a better way to connect with customer support in those rare cases where you really need help.
