Windows 10: Interactive Yammer emails coming to Outlook for Windows, Mac, mobile

Outlook is the one app to organize your personal communications and time commitments. And now, weâre rolling out a new Yammer integration to make it easier to stay connected to whatâs happening in your communities and on top of whatâs new in your inbox. Youâll be able to engage with Yammer conversations in Outlook where you can like and respond to the posts from the reading pane of your new message. This way you can stay on task while keeping up with important conversations and announcements from Yammer.

Yammer emails are now interactive across all versions of Outlook

This capability is currently available for Outlook on the web, and is now rolling out for Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, Outlook for iOS, and Outlook for Android. It leverages adaptive cards and actionable messages in Outlook to enable users to see the details of discussions you are following in Yammer, like, and reply directly from the email notification without having to switch applications or open a browser. You will automatically start to receive these interactive notifications from Yammer in Outlook as soon as we enable this feature for your tenant. You can customize which Yammer notifications you get using this guidance.

Connected Experiences

The new Yammer is now in public preview and quickly approaching worldwide release. It includes new features like a variety of community announcement options and changes to the live events and publisher experiences that will drive new opportunities for engagement and generate new notifications in Outlook.

Actions like voting on Yammer polls, attaching recent files, and replies including rich text in replies are already interactive on Outlook on the web. Weâre excited to continue building out similar experiences in Outlook for Windows, Mac, and mobile in the coming months. Interactive Yammer Emails in Outlook on the web are here

Outlook on the web users can now interact with Yammer conversations, polls, questions and praise without leaving their Outlook inbox. We announced this feature at Microsoft Ignite 2019, and it is now rolled out to 100% of enterprise tenants. It will be coming to desktop and mobile apps next quarter with releases for Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook for iOS and Android.

Engage with conversations from Outlook on the web

Outlook helps you get things done without switching apps. Now, users can engage with Yammer conversations in Outlook so that you can get your tasks done and stay connected without having to leave Outlook. See the full Yammer thread and reply, like, vote, attach files, share gifs and even watch videos – right from your inbox.

This experience is now on by default for web users and works with all Yammer emails in Outlook on the web, and leverages the new Yammer design and publisher. Paired with the new ability to announce polls, questions, and praise it gives communicators and community owners a seamless way to share news and knowledge at scale, collect feedback, and connect across their organization.

How Yammer notification emails traditionally appeared in Outlook.

Yammer emails now inherit the new styling - including interactive conversations and media.

This is the first chance to engage with the new Yammer, enjoy the new design, and take advantage of quickly engaging in a Yammer conversation without leaving Outlook.

We understand that sometimes change takes a little longer to get used to. If you would like to see the classic Yammer emails, you can turn off this update on a per-email basis by selecting “Hide Yammer Conversation” at the bottom of the email.

Windows Phone apps Skype for Business, Teams, and Yammer discontinued Mobile

Windows phone apps for Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer are retiring on May 20, 2018

Summary

Effective May 20, 2018, the Windows Phone apps for Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer will be retired. Starting on that date, these apps will no longer be available for download from Microsoft Store, and Microsoft will no longer support them.

While Microsoft continues to support Windows 10 Mobile, we are not focused on building new features for the system. We will continue to invest in the Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer mobile apps for iOS and Android, and also in desktop apps for Windows and Mac.

Moving forward, Windows Phone users will have the best experience by using Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer in the mobile web browser.

How does this affect me?

After May 20, 2018, the Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Yammer apps for Windows Phone will no longer be available from Microsoft Store. Existing users will have the following experience:

Skype for Business and Yammer apps may continue to work, but we can’t provide any guarantees. These apps will no longer receive updates or support.

The Microsoft Teams app will no longer work, and users will receive an error message when they try to connect.

What do I have to do to prepare for this change?

Going forward, Windows Phone users can connect to Skype for Business, Yammer, and Microsoft Teams by accessing them as follows:

Skype for Business: We continue to invest in the Skype for Business mobile apps for iOS and Android, and also in desktop applications for Windows and Mac.

Microsoft Teams: Users can access Microsoft Teams by using the mobile browser.

Yammer: Users can access Yammer using the mobile browser.

How to install outlook express on windows xp with explorer 8?

This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.
