    Intermitant BSOD Issue

    Hello everyone,

    First time poster here.

    My PC is a custom built desktop running Windows 10 x64.
    Running a slight overclock, but the issues occur weather at stock or not.

    My PC was stable for a very long time, but recently has been BSOD every few days.

    I did add some hardware recently over black friday. Doubled the ram, added more HDDs and SSD, added another video card for SLI and added a new monitor. I realize that the problem may lie with one of the components.

    I did run memtest on the memory overnight and there were zero errors. I also ran crystal disk on all the new storage devices, did full formats, and have ran many different scans to check for errors. I also did a 24 hour burn in with the new video card/ monitor set up and there were no issues.

    The system may go days without a problem, then have multiple days in a row with BSOD issues.
    Most of the time the reboot happens when I am not on the computer, but it has happened once while I was on it (today). Was not doing anything special just web browsing.

    I appreciate the help!

    Thanks,
    BDS

    :)

  2. Windows 10 intermitant startup issue

    every time I start up its either very slow and grinds to a halt or I get a blank screen.

    Event Viewer tells me its an event ID: 1001

    There are two events and here they are:

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

    {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}

    and APPID

    {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}

    to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    And:

    The Sync Host_2468e service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 10000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

    Any help would be great, first time post dont know what im doing. hope this is right info.

    Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
    These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

    Remove ASUS software, it is known for causing bluescreens.

    Please remove one of the GTX 970, preferably the oldest one and disconnect 1 monitor.

    Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

    Thank you for your help. I am willing to try your suggestions but I have a few questions
    Please don't take offense, I am just trying to understand your logic.

    1. What specifically should I remove from startup?

    2. Which specific ASUS software are you referring to? Kind of a blanket statement to say it's all bad. ASUS AI Suite 3 is particularly useful to me as its what I use to overclock my system.

    3. What purpose does it serve to disconnect a graphics card and monitor? Is the goal to just eliminate one variable?

    1. Currently everything except for protection software. Later you can add a few if you want but don't add too much.

    2. A little difficult to say, mostly AI Suite is causing bluescreens but others sometimes too.

    3. An Nvidia Video driver has been flagged, you have 2 GTX 970 graphics cards. The goal is to find out what graphics card the system is complaining about and with some luck having the problematic graphics card removed. The extra monitor is just to make it more easy.
