    Intermittent Slow Wifi


    Hi All, On one of my machines, wifi is intermittent. It ocassionaly works well, but mostly is painfull slow, or cannot connect at all. The problem started a couple of weeks ago, before that it was fine. Speed test over ethernet: ping 8ms, download 36Mbp upload 9Mbps Speed test over wifi: ping 13ms, download 0.1Mbp upload 0Mbps sometimes just get test error I've tried to troubleshoot with no success: -Checked various network settings -Check wifi adaptor drivers. Remove & reinstall -Forget network settings & start from sratch -Checked wifi chip is not turning off due to power options -Checked TCP/IP settings (IPv4 & IPv6 both set to obtain ip address automatically) -Netsh winsock reset -Netsh int ip reset -Flushed DNS cache -Changed to open DNS -Probably a few things else I tried which i've forgotten! Running Win 10 2004 build 19041.928 Any suggestions very welcome & appreciated! Thanks

    Wifi Very Slow

    Hi,

    The following are some reasons that may cause of the slow WiFi connection.



    • Corrupted or incompatible drivers.
    • Missing updates.
    • Network connection settings.
    • Hardware or software problems.
    • Inappropriate distance from the router or obstruction.
    • Interference with other devices.

    Wifi very slow on laptop, but ok on other devices - Windows 10

    Hi Annu

    I've had the same problem as Panayiotis1984. Upgraded to Windows 10 on my Lenovo from windows 8.1 - now the wifi is painfully slow. The wifi still works fine on my other devices (smartphone etc).

    I tried the steps that you suggested but they did not bring an improvement.

    Any other suggestions?

    Intermittent Slow Wifi

    Intermittent problems with TLS handshake and being timed out

    Check DNS settings for both network adapters. Your Wifi might be set to use a different DNS server.

    Option Two follow steps then pick a DNS server from the list in item 7. Personally I use CloudFlare DNS

    EDIT: Reset router first as already suggested.
