  1. Internal links or icons open new windows

Since the most recent Windows 10 update, each time I click on an icon or link within a window in Chrome it opens a new window of the same program. For example, If I'm on Facebook, and I click on the Notifications icon, instead of opening the Notifications panel within Facebook, it opens a new duplicate Facebook window. This doesn't happen on my phone which is Android--only on my laptop and desktop PCs. So that makes it a Windows issue. Is there a fix? I've tried logging out of FB, changing my password, restarting, etc., but this still happens on both laptop and desktop.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
