Windows 10: Internet disconnects

Hello,

I really hope someone can help as running a cable to the room my pc is in would be an impossible task.

Recently my internet has started to cut out at random intervals. (It has been absolutely fine for 2 months prior) It will still be connected to my router but will say ‘no internet’ if you hover over the WIFI symbol in the hot bar.

If I click on the WIFI symbol to look for other sources (of which there are a lot of where I live) it will not find any and continually search. If I try to go to the network settings when this happens they will not open. If I try to troubleshoot it will never finish the troubleshooting (I have left it for hours)

Annoyingly I get no error codes or messages to help identify the problem.

I have tried everything I know / could find online

• updated drivers
• ensured it is a private network
• cleared DNS and IP confiq
• uninstalled device and reinstalled

System info - Orbi RB40 WiFi mesh - Windows 10 Home 64bit - build 19042 - ASUS PCE-AC88

Internet disconnection

I don't know why I have disconnection while using the Internet. Is it due to the ISP or the router or modem? The modem and router all have lights on. It disconnected for less than 30s then back on.

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Do you get any error message when the internet disconnects?
• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• Are you able to connect through wired connection?

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the internet troubleshooter as below and check if it helps.

• Type Troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Once the window open click on View All located on the left navigation pane.
• Locate and select Internet Connection and run the in build troubleshooter.

Method 2: I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article

uTorrent disconnecting my internet connection

AT&T wasn't much of a help. All they suggested was to replace my router and modem with their products.

The disconnections never happen when I surf the web
