    Internet Dropouts

For the last several months, I've been suffering internet dropouts on my PC. They are generally only for 5 to 10 seconds, although, the odd one lasts for over a minute. Some days there only a dozen or so dropouts, other days there can be hundreds.

I have been using Net Monitor, which pings three DNS servers every 5 seconds. If the response is more than 200 ms for all 3 servers for more than 5 seconds, it reports a failure. During that time, I can't access the internet.

It doesn't affect any other devices on the network.
It doesn't seem to matter if I have nothing open, the dropouts happen even when I'm not at my machine.
    I've changed ISP.
My current ISP says there has been no drop in signal
I've tried both wired and WiFi
I've tried a wireless USB dongle
I've checked both the router and Windows logs - Windows reports a loss of DNS
I've tried different DNS suppliers - default is Google 8.8.8.8

I'm now at a loss for what to look at next.

    Internet Dropouts

    Wifi dropouts since Windows 10

Really sorry but I was getting confused with my other laptop which I also have problems with although I no longer use it for the internet.

This other one I have is the one with wifi dropouts. It was bought used from a friend with Windows 10 already installed and the dropouts began a few months ago. He had it for 3 months from new. I've tried all the online fixes that I can see and none work.

I've had it now for about 8 months and it was fine to begin with.
