Windows 10: Internet Explorer Crashing

Haha......I've made a few tweaks to my computer itself.....like maxed out the memory, next will be changing CPU to max out that spec on this HP motherboard. All the tweaks I've made on Windows 10, are due to all the help I've received here from all the GREAT guys like YOU and many others that have given me lots of ideas......on tweaking, repairing my Windows 10. *Thumbs*Thumbs

 

Hi Cliff... I reran CCleaner a bit more aggressively (lost lots of settings, etc. but who cares!!), and I might just be being overly optimistic but I've now not had any crashes for two days. Thanks again for all of your assistance. Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year.

 

Glad to hear it's staying stable. You will probably get an occasional crash or freeze(I still do) but a constant one every time it's used should be fixed.

Did the command execute without finding any errors?
If yes, did you reboot and try running it again.
If it gives you errors again, please post a screenshot.

1. Checked Reliability History, and found a .dll fault, but a different .dll then the one you found. Nonetheless
2. copied and pasted the bolded portion above into a Command Prompt "Run as Administrator".

Only been an hour, but no crashes yet. Before it was impossible to use IE11 because it would crash on virtually every search result. Fingers crossed....

Thx...will let you know if problem returns..

went to you tube tried one of my music videos and crashed again

This is what I found about the dll:

msvcr90.dll - What is msvcr90.dll?

It was recommend to uninstall the program and reinstall.
But IE cannot be Uninstalled.
You could try turning it off in Programs & Features,







restarting, then run Ccleaner to nuke EVERYTHING to do with IE,
and then run the Registry cleaner in it,
restart again.
Then open up an admin command prompt and run(copy & paste this in):

fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\&fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:&Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc /scannow&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase&pause

Reboot.

Then turn IE back on.

 

Thank you Cliff....you know I googled that DLL and I found It was related to
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable so I uninstalled every one I had
on my PC (that was related to 2008) and re-installed them...but again, to no avail.

That being said, I will now perform your suggestion and see how I come
out...will report back to you when completed and checked

You can try what I posted before, or just mount the new ISO and try doing a repair install, which seems about to fix any problems I have had, so far.
Being something is obviously corrupted, it basically will reinstall all Windows OS files and folders, cleaning out the OS, but leave your programs, apps, data files & folders and most of your settings, alone.
