Internet randomly stops working on PC (works fine on other devices)

While you have internet run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup and the run the restorehealth option. After these run sfc /scannow which does not need internet access. You must have internet to run the restorehealth option in dism as it uses an online image unless you specify a local source. If these do not work you may have hardware issues with your adapter or need to re-install windows. I had a network adapter(on motherboard) fail in a PC and the ultimate fix was to buy a USB adapter(got mine from newegg) which fixed the issue.

I already told you I ran them and I get errors... This is the 5th time I am running them and this is either the 2nd or 3rd time me telling you that it doesn't work.

I feel your frustration but do not shoot the messenger. Have you tried a direct ethernet connection by unplugging the cable from your modem and plugging direct into your computer or try a different LAN port on the back of the router. Just because your router is broadcasting to wireless devices does not mean the LAN ports are working correctly or your LAN cable to your PC is ok. My router has lights to show when a LAN connection is current. Example LAN 1/ Lan 2 etc. Typically 4 LAN ports are available. Try a different port and try a different cable. Then try a direct connection to you PC bypassing the router. Looking thru this thread I do not see that you have tried to restore back to a point when this still worked. I have issues on one PC since Creators Update with no internet when I boot up but it reconnects when I click connect. Windows Update will try try to replace your adapter drivers with generic ones from Microsoft which do not always work. Mahe sure you have manufacturer drivers not one from MS. Lots of people with these issues currently. I replaced my driver with a manufacturer Woin 10 driver but still have issues. Ten Forum's techs have not been able to help me fix it. If you do not have a lot of data and software you might need to reinstall windows at some point if scannow and restorehealth will not run successfully. You have corrupt files. As stated before your internet must be working for restorehealth to work as it gets it's files from Windows Update unless you use your own repair media and specify the source of that media. For future use you should get a list of dism commands from technet, lifehacker, etc. for repair options. I was a victim if Win 8 and had to constantly repair to keep Window update working. 6 different re-installs. MS techs twice could not fix it. Here is the dism command for using your own windows copy(I assume you have a copy of your current OS version. If not you will have to download one from MS. Use the media creation tool to create a bootable usb drive. You can also use HeiDoc to download a WIM ISO from MS technet site which is a mountable image that can also be used. You can also use Rufus(free) to create a bootable usb flash drive. Once you have media insert it in a drive and not it's letter location and then use the following dism command to repair from your media. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows /LimitAccess Please note that you do not need to use any upper case letters other than the drive designation letter. Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows is your repair media. replace C with your drive letter and repair source with the name of your media. Windows should be the folder in your media with your copy of windows. It still just could be your adapter has failed and needs replaced. A $15 usb adapter would tell you this in two minutes or less.

yes i tried that already as well.

My pc is wired and doesn't have any adapters. It's a custom PC.

My windows is up to date. I don't have a back up

update: i notice a random CMD pops up for a good 0.1 second and then the internet goes out. This usually happens after the first 5 - 10 minutes of logging into my account.

anyway I can see what that CMD is? it closes so quickly.

I have no idea. Your internet adapter is built into the motherboard. It could have failed and there is no way to fix it if a uninstall/reinstall did not fix it or changing the driver to a factory driver. Do not use the MS generic driver. The only option is to add another. You can but a PCIe card or a usb adapter. Mine failed 2 years ago. It kept losing connection after a few minutes. I had no corrupt files. Both SFC scannow and dism /...restorehealth were OK. Bought a usb adapter and it worked fine. Your router could also be at fault. Just because it is broadcasting does not mean that it is sending a signal through the LAN port your ethernet cable is connected to. I asked you to try another port and to try another cable. I also asked if the indicator light for the port your cable is plugged into is lit. I have tried to help you but you must participate to eliminate any of these as the source of your problem. I asked you to restore to a point when it still worked but....! When you run a ipconfig/all command I suspect that your adapter shows media state disconnected. As I stated before I am not a tech nor a Tenforums staff/tech. You have been given all the options I know. If none of these fix it then you may have to refresh, reset, or reinstall windows as at some point you have to get your corrupt files fixed. I gave you the dism command for repairing from a media source but you have none. You made your bed by not creating recovery media when you installed Win 10. You always do this with a new OS. You should also have created an image at that time so you can return your computer to the clean state but you did not. I keep 3 operating PC's so I have a way to research on the internet how to repair a PC that is down as well as to download and fixes, script, programs, OS files. Instead you opted for one gamer. Your other option is to have a repair shop fix it for you. Takes less than a day and about $75. Good luck!

Go to Dell's website, they have hundreds of refurbished computers for sale! Their warranty is only one year long. These are all new computers that failed! Brand new computers fail every single day, period. I had a brand new computer fail the day it was un-boxed and turned on. Nothing ever built by man has been or will be perfect. I have seen back up hard drives fail in a few months, not years. I have had motherboards fail too as well as adapters built into motherboards. You have made your bed, now sleep in it. Sometimes diagnosis is the result of elimination of possible things, especially if trying to do a repair one's self as you are. You refuse to do so and have zero backup. A fool and his money are soon parted. I am finished with this issue. Good luck.

Tried disabling the SoftEthernet protocol in the the ethernet properties? just possible that's causing the problem.
