Windows 10: Internet Sharing from a Laptop to an Xbox 360

Hi, so Ive recently acquired an older model xbox 360 without the built-in wireless adapter. So instead of purchasing a external adapter I was just thinking of connecting the 360 straight to the laptop using an ethernet cable then using the the bridge connection function to link the ethernet adapter with the wifi adapter on the laptop. But even though it says the connection is bridged I cant seem to get any connectivity on the 360 Ive tried using both crossover and straight through cables but I still get nothing. Any suggestions?

Xbox 360 for Windows does not work

To address your concern, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Xbox 360 controller driver. To do that, follow these steps:

• Go to the Device Manager.
• In Device Manager locate Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
  and right click it.
• Choose Uninstall.
  
• After the driver has been uninstalled, restart your computer. When your computer restarts, Windows 10 will automatically install the missing driver.
