Windows 10: IP Address won't change in Windows 11.

I try to change my IP address to hook up to some plant machines and it keeps reverting back to 169.254.1.34. I attached a bunch of pictures as when I go into control panel it will say it is set and 198.168.1.240 but then it says elsewhere that its not. I also did an IP config and it says I have 3 different IP addresses set. When I try to change it just through ethernet settings it says "Can't save IP settings. Check one or more settings and try again." I tried ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew and I also reset my network settings to default. I had my IT look at it and they don't have anythin

Your IP is provided by your ISP and cannot be changed. Your IP address is assigned to you by the ISP and can be seen by anyone.

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

This issue could have occurred due incorrect TCP\IP Address settings.

Method 1:

I suggest you to reset TCP\IP and check if it helps.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try these steps to Flush DNS and request a new IP address from your ISP server. Check if it helps.

  Click on
  Start and type cmd on start search.
  
• 
  Right-click on command prompt Run
  and selectas administrator.
  
• 
  At the command prompt, type the following commands and hit
  Enter after each command.
  

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

exit
