iPod Nano 1st Gen not Detected on Win 10

    Hi,

Poisoned by nolstagia, I bought a first gen iPod nano. When I connect it to my 5th gen Surface Pro running Win 10 x64, the iPod is charging fine but is not detected as a drive.

1 Under devices and printers, it does not show up as unspecified

2 Under device manager it does not show up in either USB or devices. Not even after hardware scan while plugged in.

3 The USB port is fine while using other thumbdrives.

4 The cable is fine as it charges properly.

5 The iPod is working fine playing music and all the organic functions.

6 I have done the reset, diagnostic mode, disk mode and can't overcome the problem.

7 I have done the whole uninstall iTunes and components in specific order and remove all residual files and folders, reinstalled iTunes and still no joy.

    Hence this post.

    :)

My Ipod nano 7th generation detected but can not be identified properly on Itunes

Have you asked in the Apple community?

iTunes and iPod are both Apple Products, not Microsoft Products.
