Windows 10: ipv4 connected ipv6 no network access

Discus and support ipv4 connected ipv6 no network access in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I can't see what the Router is using but someone has tried using Google's two free DNS servers (under "use these") ie 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 at some point.... ipv4 connected ipv6 no network access

In LAN settings there's box checked that says "Use Router as DHCP Server"
and under that it says "Starting IP address" which is set to my default gateway

Also, I don't know how relevant this is but I yesterday I booted into safe mode with networking and I was getting no internet all, it didn't even show any available connections. So I went to device manager and checked the adapter driver and it said this "windows cannot initialize the device for this hardware (code 37)"

    Any thoughts?
also finally got ahold of an Ethernet cable and tried that, didn't work either

DHCP is good/correct , it is the LAN setting only in this case , ie: so you and your roommate get IP addresses given out dynamically when you want to connect . the Starting address should not be the Gateway address ....add 50 to the last number eg 192.168.1.50 and make the ending one .70 , so it has 20 addresses to give out.... assuming 10 devices in the house... so some free for new devices/friends if there is no Guest Network.

Hmmm , and you say your room mate has no issues ? you have looked at there settings , asked to do an ipconfig /all ?

I can ping your ISP's Gateway Address seen above , try putting this Address (96.36.136.1) in the LAN Settings Under DHCP instead of the Gateway address (192.168.1.1) for the DNS numbers , this is how I have it set on my router , with my ISP's Gateway Address as DNS.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>ping 96.36.136.1

    Tried that still no success.

I checked my roommates laptop's ipconfig/all and he's using the same dns server and default gateway so I don't understand why mine isn't working.

I know I'm definitely connected to the internet though because I can send and receive emails from the mail app

and I double checked airplane mode and its not on, I wish that'd been the problem though *Smile

Alright Gents I found something on another thread and it solved it

    Here's what I did:

went to msconfig from the run command. Under services tab, checked the check-box "Hide all microsoft services"
Then clicked on disable all, RESTARTED.
now everything is working fine *Smile

Thanks a ton for the help!

So which Service was causing it ? Antivirus ? , did you test one by one or just disable eveything ? turning back on one by one will tell you.

Which other thread i'd like to have a read....

this is the thread: Connected to Internet but cant browse or get email - Microsoft Community

second to last post I believe was the one that helped me out.

I disabled them all initially but I'm starting to re-enable them one by one, it's going to take awhile though, I have to restart after each one. I'll be sure to post the results.

Alright I went through and one by one re-enabled all the services and the internet is still working.
I'm going to go ahead and leave them all enabled and if it cuts out on me again I'll disable them one by one and see what was causing it.

I'll be sure to post the results on here if that happens.
In the mean time at least the problem is narrowed down to the services and the easy fix is to disable all the non microsoft ones.

the Story gets "Stranger"....... *Smile sounds like turn them off and on again has reset something....good news....

you should check with your ISP if IPV6 is available , at least for me I had to enable it on my Router as it was off by default . My ISP has it if you are on Fibre but does not advertise that fact.....
