Windows 10: IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS BSOD, memtest86+ passed

I tried to start Guild Wars 2 and got a BSOD. I also frequently have issues with Flash and javascript crashing, mostly in IE but also sometimes in Firefox. Not sure if related but thought any info is good info. I ran memtest with no errors. I have 16 GB of memory and don't run much in the background so can't see why I am getting this issue. Any help would be great.

Multiple random daily MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSODs

As stated in my first post, I have already run MemTest86+ for 9 passes with no errors.

I believe there is corruption in the pagefile BECAUSE of the BSODs, not vice-versa. And this happened on 2 different computers with the same drive. Please read my first post in its entirety to get a full scope of the problem.

 

Having frequent BSOD and screen freezes

The temperatures look to be okay.

As the dump files become corrupted during BSOD, it is good time to check RAM:

Do a memory test of at least 8 passes and post back the image when test completes(use your Phone's camera)

Warning Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with Driver Booster 3, please remove them as it may cause trouble.

Please remove IObit software, IObit software is just bad for your system.

Did you have BSOD's more then once lately?
If not, then it isn't something to worry about as Windows takes the appropriate action to fix the problem.

 

From what I can tell DB3 downloads the drivers from the manufacturer so I'd like to see some kind of proof that it does otherwise. I'm certainly not going to let windows do it since those are often outdated. Do you have any other suggestions for uninstallers? Again pretty common knowledge that windows native uninstaller is terrible. Lastly can anyone tell from the reports what is actually causing the problem. This is not the first time I've gotten a BSOD.

Please check {windows partition}\windows\minidump and check if there are more then 1 dump files saved.

If you want proof you can search through the BSOD section, there are some who were forced to clean install Windows because of DB3 drivers. Same is for other programs that claim to update drivers.

How many passes were completed with MemTest86+?

From what I understand as this is a read error

• A driver tried to read an invalid/wrong address in the memory
• A driver tried to read corrupted data from the memory

If MemTest86+ was completed with at least 8 complete passes and its voltage and frequency in the BIOS are as they should be, then a driver is causing this.

Diagnostic Test

DRIVER VERIFIER


Warning Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.



Note Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

 

When I run memtest should I force multithreading? I have 4 cores. Also any configurations I should change from the default? I'm going to run it again and let it do 8 passes. Realtek says to use the drivers from Gigabyte so should I go there instead? I don't download the utilities from Gigabyte but just the actual drivers since my motherboard is from them.

 

Shouldn't be necessary to change anything in memtest.

The Realtek driver looks fine and should be compatible with Windows 10.
