    Is 64 bit OS useful??????.


    Independent of ram,

    Installing 64 bit OS is useful or not?????



    Some are saying that installing 64 bit OS is not much useful.

    As it uses double amount of data than 32 bit.

    Even we have more than 4 GB ram like 6 GB ram, they are telling that it doesn't improve much performance.



    So please tell 64 bit OS is useful or not????????

    Is it important to own a 64-bit OS if you are a gamer?

    No one in this thread has suggested that with a 64bit OS everything else is 64bit*Confused Is 64 bit OS useful??????. :confused:

    32-bit or 64-bit OS?

    Just search. There was plenty of discussion on that.
    Some time ago there were issues with 64-bit adoption (availability of drivers, etc). But that's past.

    It's no-brainer now. Go 64-bit.

    64-bit OS will run 32 bit applications same as 32-bit OS
    64-bit OS will not boost CPU performance, but will allow all 4 GB of your memory to be used (32-bit would limit it to 3.x GB)
    64-bit OS will allow DX10/11 games to run faster because of better handling on GPU memory access

    I have win 7 Home basic 32 bit license copy installed on desktop system, need to upgrade OS as win 7 Home basic 64 Bit,
