  1. Is a DistributedCOM event the source of my problems?

    I'm having an issue when I attempt to boot up one specific game my wireless connection gets disconnected, and stays disconnected until I exit the game, and then returns back to normal. When not attempting to run this game my network runs normal as usual, I can browse the internet, stream, and even remote access into equipment just fine. I checked my event logs, and at the time my internet disconnected this one was generated:

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

    {6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52}

    and APPID

    {4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D}

    to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    There is another event that says the same thing, but has different CLSID and APPID keys. What is confusing me is that these events are only "Warning" level so they shouldn't be disrupting my wifi when they happen should they? If it's not these events that are the ones causing the issue, is there any way to find what is? Sometimes when I attempt to stay in the game and reconnect to my network I get the "Cant connect to this network" prompt, and occasionally my computer will just reboot out of nowhere, no error messages, no blue screen, just a black screen followed by a reboot. I'm stumped at what the problem is as well as how to fix it, so any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

    I'm running Windows 10 Pro Version 2004, OS Build 19041.329, with Experience Pack 120.2202.130.0

    DistributedCom 10016 permissions event error

    This is Dec 13 a.m. repeat series. The events from previous days in Dec. are now not listed in the Event viewer. This event is recorded at start up , repeats itself and then is not active for the rest of the day.

    Hi,

    What implications would that be ?
    It's easy enough to fix if you follow the steps correctly:

    Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM

    No need to wait and hold your breath. MS can't be bothered with errors that appear to be random or caused by third party software really.

    Cheers, *Wink

    EDIT: Just noticed the link was posted already. *Redface

  4. Is a DistributedCOM event the source of my problems?

    Are you getting DistributedCOM Event ID: 10010 errors with 11.4?

    For those that updated to Cat 11.4 could you check the event viewer's Administrative Events (type Event Viewer in Start's search box, click on it, let it load, then select Custom View then Admin. Events) to see if you are getting: DistributedCOM Event ID: 10010, E10F6C3A-F1AE-4ADC-AA9D-2FE6552566 errors? To check if you are continuing to get them pick a specific time to reboot and once back up to desktop check the event viewer again to see if the error pops up again at the time the PC shutdown.
