Windows 10: Is it posible to stop an ESP partition in my C: drive to show as a local disk?

Help, please.Currently using a home-built desktop PC; I cloned the old HDD system of the previous PC to an SS drive in the new PC and upgraded to Windows 11. After that I had not been able to make Windows 7 Backups.I have followed a lot of suggestions from these forums, but no solution found.It seems to be related to the junction point or reparse point reparse point points to a volume employing FAT file system. They suggested to check its properties and it is supposed to show "Type is listed as Mounted Volume", but in my case it says "File folder". They suggested to delete the fold

GPT Reserved Partition showing as Local Disk

I have a two laptops with Windows 10 x64. Recently I noticed new partition with next available letter. Size is 128mb and it can't be accessed. I checked in Disk Management but this partition is not listed there as per the below screen:





I used MiniTool Partition Wizard and managed to see details about this partition.





I tried Diskpart to remove Drive Letter but no luck:





This happened at the same time on my two HP laptops but not sure what could cause it. Maybe some Windows update? I do not remember installing any new apps. I would like to remove this disk from the list of available disks.





Can anyone suggest/advise how I can remove this from the list?

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Recovery Partition not showing as such in disk management

That is an interesting question to raise.

Nothing will happen to the ESP. As you've stated correctly, the upgrade will take space from Volume C. It is not going to make changes to the Recovery Partition, let alone the ESP. It is going to create a second Recovery between Volume C and the ESP. The Recovery to the utmost right will be left orphaned.

Also no MBR2GPT was obviously involved because according to the OP Disk 0 is a clone of Disk 1. That ESP was added manually to the drive.
