Windows 10: Is it possible to add applications to Notification Center?

I have Postbox as an email application, and I would like to know if there's a way to have it register alerts in Windows 10's Notification Center? (Other applications I have installed will give alerts in the Notification Center, but I cannot figure out if there's a way to add Postbox).

Often I get an idea to attach an alarm to a earlier made meeting in my calendar. How to do it?

I don't know if Thunderbird has the desired feature, or not. Do applications like Thunderbird (or Postbox) have to have certain features in order to interact with the Notification Center?

 

All the programs I've seen that have icons in the Notification Area have put them there during install so I'd say Yes, it is part of their installation routine.

 

Well, there's a program called Ultimate Windows Tweaker, from the site The Windows Club, that doesn't even have an installation routine--you just run it, and it works, and yet it interacts with the Notification Center.
