Windows 10: Is it possible to Share a Windows 10 machine on a WorkGroup

Unfortunately I can't do that because "Everyone" does not exists at all, it is "Tout le monde" on my machine *Sad

As I understand this is a build-in Group and I can't create another one named "Everyone" with the same properties ?

 

Sorry but I don't know what to tell you. If you can't click on Tout le monde, click on Edit then Remove I don't know what else to tell you.

You said you changed your input language from French to English. Maybe you need to install the English version?????

 

I also experienced the same problem. Windows 7 can open share folder windows 10 .. but Windows 10 is unable to read folder share win 7 ... I think the share folder windows 10 can only share the same version. So, windows 10 is not good friend of windows 7 or XP..













I look around on internet and just found some tricky solution that needs Registry editing

Is it really so complicate to configure Windows 10 for networking ?

win 10 can share with win 7 as the earlier posts here show. Re-read this thread and see if you get a result.

Unless something is screwed up, you don't need registry edits for sharing.

 

Networking with Windows 10 seems anyway to be very difficult and probably an unexpected weakness !

I finally ask an IT consultant to help to get my three Windows 10 machines visible each to the other
He works almost 2 hours to get it done
And even now, when a machine Wake-Up it seems to be deeply discarded from networking and I have to retry severall time or even restart Windows to get it visible again !

This is regression from my point of view
Some will claim that this is the price to pay for better security
On that way I would say that the best security is no network at all .... maybe a trends ?

 

If you are talking about network discovery, that was fixed with KB3140743. Have you got this installed?

No I see now that on one of my machines the Update stuck on

Failed to Install

I will investigate about that

Now I see that although KB 3106246 is still stuck
The KB 3140743 was successfully installed on 3-3-2016
I will then review my other machines and check network discovery
And for KB 3106246 I will continue to investigate
