    Is it possible to transfer an already activated Windows from a hard drive to an SSD?


    I want to build my own PC but would rather not have to buy a whole new Windows key to activate Windows on the new computer. The computer I'm currently using is an all-in-one and had windows already activated for it. Is it possible to transfer my current activated windows without the key to another drive SSD?

    Transferring Windows 10 from hard drive to SSD drive

    I have Windows 10 installed on a pair of 500g hard drives (SATA 0 & SATA 1) linked as a RAID 1 pair (mirror) being the system "C drive".

    These drives are now fairly old and one indicates an 'error' on bootup. They also have my main software installed on them, generally configured to store data on my separate D drive.

    Altogether, the C drive presently contains some 100g of 'used' space.

    I wish to replace the RAID pair with a single SSD drive of 120g, and transfer the contents of the "C drive" to it, together with all the present settings as far as possible.

    Is it possible to split the RAID pair, and install the new SSD in place of the faulty drive. Then re-pair the RAID 1 (with differing drives) so as to rebuild the contents of the new drive from the old?

    Or is there a third party application which can successfully clone the old drive to the new one?

    I have a Win 7, 64bit, 6gb, b940 laptop. It runs with a Hard disk. I am planning to change the hard disk with a 256 gb SSD. I would like to keep Win 7 in both hard disk and SSD. Is it possible. Can it be cloned? I would also like to keep the hard disk as an external storage device . The hard disk has C,D and F(dvdrw) drive. Do I need to change the drive names in SSD? or C and D drive can be in both places?

    Please tell me if it can be done with Windows Easy transfer and also give me the steps. What accessories will I need to do it?

    If it cannot be done with Windows Easy transfer, then also give me the steps of how to do it?
