  1. Is it safe to disable hppusg, conhost etc which are affecting startup?

My Windows 10 Laptop, HP Pavillion series, bought 2016, starts up very slowly and apps also take a lot of time to load initially. After sometime, things get comparatively better and apps load up at an okay-ish speed. I thought of checking the startup menu in task manager and saw this. "hppusg" having a very high impact of startup. Now the problem is, I can't disable it without disabling some other apps, which show up in the dropdown menu, too, and I am afraid I might end up crashing my system. Should I disable this? Some Microsoft Features also disable automatically with hppusg, and I want to make sure that they are not essential system processes. 3. How can I disable "Startup" for Sticky Notes, on Windows 10 1607

    Hi,

Since the steps provided did not help, we'll try a different approach. We suggest resetting Sticky Notes first then proceed on doing the same steps on how to disable it on startup. Follow the steps provided below:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Apps.
    • Find Sticky Notes under Apps
      & features.
    • Select Advanced options.
    • Click Reset.
    • Repeat the steps provided by Confused Caribou.

    Looking forward to your response.

Password not accepted in Safe mode

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

    • Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
    • Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
    • What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

    • At the login screen click on the power symbol.

    • Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.

    • After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.

    • Select advanced options under
      Troubleshoot screen.

    • Click on Startup Settings.

    • Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.

Please get back with more information, we will be glad to help you further.
