    From yesterday and up to now I have worked to update the program Microsoft security essential antivirus and it its background never becomes green and still red ... really I hated this way of internet it is anyway bad in Iraq, but although the internet is bad, I can download a file 100 megabytes. I downloaded to my PC the program malwarebytes which its size 167 megabytes.

    However, it is being my problem with the Microsoft security essential will never end.

    I many time complain of and posted to here, but this time it is critical since I can't install ESET in window 7 32 bit which till now I use it and never have desire to upgrade to windows 10 ... The windows 10 also it has problems I watched my son uses.

    Please, could any one help and guide me what to do or is there any antivirus is worked in windows 7 ?

    I attached through the program using help one agent in the page of Microsoft is not a human and messaged that one robot and lastly advised to download a bundle definition but I tried and could not install.

    I thought it perhaps supports the program. Also I used the troubleshoot program and did nothing.

    Then no solution remains unless I tried.

    And as I told the eset antivirus now does not work in windows 7 , because the services of window 7 is ended.

    I see window 7 is better than 10.

    All theses developments in science and still we suffer from the programs and services.

    I see most of sites now become for advertisement and are fulled of viruses.

    Now I try to update and you could see the green thin line in the middle hardly moves

    Again please help.

    Windows 10 Windows Defender versus Microsoft Security Essentials

    Hi Bryan,

    Microsoft Security Essentials was upgraded to Windows defender and it was a default security software from Windows 8. You cannot have both as they are one.

    Since you get this annoying popup at the startup i suggest you to disable any Microsoft Security Essentials entries in Startup tab.

    • Open the Task manager. by pressing Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
    • click on Startup tab
    • Right click on Microsoft Security Essentials entry and click on Disable.

    Restart the computer and check if that helps.
