    Is Photo Viewer and Word 365 taking forever to load because of Calibration issues?


    Is Windows Photo Viewer and Word 365 taking a long time to open due to calibrating every time they open? Both these programs take for ever. I figured a fix would come in an update sooner or later but it doesnt seem to be happening.

    There are several reasons why this issue occurs, such as corrupted system file or your graphic driver needs to be updated. To isolate your issues about viewing photos in
    Windows Photo Viewer, we just have a few questions:

    • Is the issue the same with a different image file format?
    • Have you tried using the Photo app to check if the issue is the same?
    • Is the issue only occurs with the photos that were captured using your DSLR camera?
    • Have you tried downloading photos online and check if the issue is the same?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    In the meantime, to troubleshoot your issue in using the Windows Photo Viewer, we suggest that you run the Windows apps troubleshooter. To do so, click on this
    link. If the issue still persists, we recommend that you update your graphic driver. To do this, we suggest that you follow the steps provided on this
    link.

    I want the old Widows Picture Viewer loaded on my new computer.

    Dear Melowin,

    The computer that has the app I want to change came loaded with Windows 10 and the new Photos app. I did try your suggestion and the two choices listed = the default (Photos) and Paint. I went to the app store, but the desired application (Windows Photo
    Viewer) was not listed.

    Hello theuseddversion, and welcome to Ten Forums. Is Photo Viewer and Word 365 taking forever to load because of Calibration issues? :)

    Normally this could be from a corrupted color calibration in Color Management. Since this happens to you right after a clean install without doing anything else first, I'm not sure what could be causing it. So far, I'm not having any slow opening Windows Photo Viewer issues on my systems though.

    Did you set Windows Photo Viewer as the default program at step 9?
