Windows 10: Is ther any "Windows Hello" compatibility test program for USB webcam?

Hi,

We are developing a USB webcam to be compatible with Windows Hello, should we do any test on it to claim it's "Windows Hello" compatible?


Is such test included in WHQL or HLK?

Hi,



This issue can be caused if the webcam drivers are corrupted or missing. I would suggest you to visit the computer manufacturer website and install the latest webcam drivers.

If that issue persist try to install the web cam drivers in Compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Windows Hello - Face authentication - List of compatible webcams

Hi Microsoft Team,

I've been searching hours and hours on Microsoft websites and many internet Search Engines, for a list of compatible hardware with Windows Hello, specifically for Webcams in regards to Face Authentication.

Unfortunately all my trials were unsuccessful so far.

So would you please be so kind to redirect me to a non-exhaustive list of Windows Hello compatible hardware ?
