Windows 10: Is there a memory problem with Desktop Window Manager in either KB4601554 or KB4589212

Hi,


Recently while trying to identify a source of sluggish system behavior I tried doing a Bitdefender total scan, I saw that Desktop Window Manager was consuming too much memory:








I uninstalled KB4601554 and KB4589212 and was able to restart my scan

I suggest you to run Memory Diagnostic tool and check if it helps.

Memory Diagnostic tool is used to detect the possible memory problems.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Memory Diagnostic in the search area in the task bar and select
  Windows Memory Diagnostic.
  
• 
  Select Restart now and check for problem.

Memory management

Memory Problem


I notice you have a Killer network Manager in your list. There have been problems with the Windows Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver service which in combination with a Killer network driver starts to fill up the Non-Paged Pool memory. This was in W8.1 and the suggested fix is altering the registry key value of the “Start” entry to 4 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Ndu\ to disable the Windows Network Data Usage Monitor Driver from starting.
