  1. is there a recent windows update bug related to memory reserved for hardware?

yesterday at some point durring the day my power went out and my pc was running normally before and after then. went to restart it today a little after I got home from work and in task manager it is telling me that on the 64GB of ram I have on the system it can only use 2GB and the other 62GB is reserved for hardware. I haven't touched the BIOS in a couple months and the computer is connected to a surge protector and is still detecting all the sticks of RAM being installed. is this some kind of update bug from a recent patch? it is also giving me an error of not having an activated copy of win

    :)

  2. Hardware reserved memory at 14GB!

My hardware reserved memory for some reason is at 14GB. I don't know what caused this but I've tried unchecking the maximum memory and many other suggested fixes. I understand that Windows controls the reserved memory, but this seems way too high and it's causing performance issues. How do I reduce the reserved memory to a reasonable level and free up RAM?

Got that Nikola. The error you are getting which is the "hardware reserved" is almost related to BIOS. Since the previous steps did not work, let us check if the steps below will make any difference on the issue:

    1. Delete some files that you are no longer using.

    2. Re-instate the old BIOS. If it is still not working, install the newer BIOS instead.

    3. Check possible issues with the physical RAM. Check whether you have bad memory modules and if standoff cards are used. Make sure that the memory arrangement is correct.

Let us know if there's any changes.

    Thank you.
