Windows 10: Is there a way I could hide the Windows taskbar permanently?

I would like to hide my taskbar. I could head over to "Taskbar settings" > Turn on "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode". From the looks of it, however, if I scroll to the location where my taskbar is hidden, it will show up. I want to disable it permanently, and only allow the taskbar to show/hide when I press the "Windows" key on my keyboard. This is because the Taskbar interferes with other applications eg. When downloading files on Chrome, the "Downloads" section at the bottom is blocked by the Taskbar.

I prefer to use Docks rather than the Taskbar.

I've tried Taskbar Eliminator but it doesn't seem to work on Windows 10...

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.

Taskbar cannot be permanently hidden, but you can Auto Hide the Taskbar. Auto hiding would Hide the task bar, but when the mouse cursor is brought towards the bottom of the screen, it would reappear.

I suggest you to post your valuable suggestions in Windows feedback app. So that the developers will try to implement it in future Windows 10 Builds to enhance user experience.
