Windows 10: Is there a way to fix not being able to sign into xbox from the app on windows?

I'm on windows 10 and I need to sign into my xbox account so I can play modded minecraft and such, but every time I open the app on the laptop and sign in it immediately signs me out. I don't have an actual xbox so I can't sign in through that and I've tried doing a network reset but nothing works even though it used to work just fine. There's no error message or anything, microsoft just signs me out before the screen can load after singing in
