    Is this CPU supported for Windows 10 64-bit?


    I have an old Windows XP Dell Dimension E520 computer that's now running Windows 10 on 32-bit architecture. The CPU is a 64-bit processor. I want to know if the CPU is fully compatible with Windows 10 64-bit? It's an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz

    It meets the requirements of SSE2, PAE and NX... but I'm not sure about CMPXCHG16b, PrefetchW, or LAHF/SAHF.

    I think the CPU is capable of Windows 10 on 32-bit, but not 64-bit. I'm not sure though.

    Intel Q9650 CPU and Windows 10

    Some older 64 bit CPUs do not support 64 bit Windows 10, you will unfortunately have to switch to 32 bit Windows 10 instead.

    Problems migrating to 64 bit

    Windows 10 64 bit has some additional feature requirements not needed for 32 bit so although defined as a 64 bit CPU it does not mean it will run Windows 10 x64.

    In addition 64 bit needs motherboard compatibility and as many Atom CPUs will only support 4GB RAM max the value of running 64 bit Windows would be very limited so not catered for.

    Yes, that processor is absolutely capable of running 64bit Windows 10.
