I replied bs in response to article. No way was that comment directed at you, or other comments.

Jimbo -- thanks for the gracious reply! I was in a very noisy classroom and was distracted. I will save grsync for a linux DVD boot.

    Is this for real??

Well for what it is worth my original post was more to do with the statement that was made in the Macrium Forum I am not a member of that forum so I in no way was inferring anything untoward with Macrium. The comment could have come from any source as far as I was concerned and it remains that it was the comment that raised some doubts in my mind as to what Microsoft are or may be planning to do.
I started way back when a computer - an old Commodore 64 to be exact and over the years and quite a few machines Microsoft have brought out systems and services that one paid money for and it seems to me that they have now cottoned onto the fact that it is possible to charge an annual fee for using some services. My point about Office I am really ticked off with because I bought the right to use that software only to find that it can only be activated by a code - much in the same way as an OS but the Office software which is now well and truly outdated I cannot and I lost that right because of having to reinstall Windows on machines the Office 2007 and 2010 were installed on and personally that is an obvious way of wringing more money out of me because of the draconian licence agreement terms.
Some of the comments that were made by certain members of this forum re either me or what I first posted I found unnecessary and to em quite distasteful.
I am not going to say anymore on the subject and if I have any problems with any machine I have 10 on then I shall ask in here if I cannot find an answer via Google because that is all I shall come on this forum for. In all honesty I cannot believe such an off the cuff remark which is all I originally meant it to be has caused such a long and drawn out debate.
